.

i wanna go down by the river
toss this old body in
erasing the stain and appeasing the pain
of a true un~original sin
.
i wanna go down by the river
stand like a stone on its banks
contemplate the Spirit Great
and give ab~original thanks
.
i wanna stand down by the river
follow each rippling wave
watch~and~wait with Mother Nature
knowing her waters will save
.
i wanna stand down by the river
cold~wind blowin’ through my hair
remembering with trembling
old souls are roaming near
.
i wanna thank the sun and moon
our natural calendar
that helps us find a way in life
and accents ev’ry star
.
i wanna thank the sky and clouds
a panoramic view
shape~shifting or showering
there’s nothing they can’t do
.
i wanna walk down by the river
with my gentle friend
love keeps growing and we know
it’s flowing without end
.
i wanna walk down by the river
shiver like a shrub in the breeze
contemplate the Spirit Great
and fall down on my knees
.
i wanna thank this bouncy beach
so soft beneath my feet
decaying leaves to stir belief
and carry~on the beat
.
i wanna thank this rushing river
carry me away
letting~go i feel the flow
re~learning how to pray
.
