Bennie J sings original songs set to poems written by her late partner, Martha Kelch, who passed away in 2020 leaving behind a stack of poems a foot tall and very few other material things. The poems explore lost love, sex, religion, death and various manifestations of mental illness – always with a distinct voice and often with humor.

In the spirit of Fringe, most of the songs in this show will be about sex. The title poem begins, “cheesecake and hot chocolate that lull me to the bed – sweet visions of us naked are dancing in her head … ”
